I have been fortunate and blessed to be involved in competitive ballooning, an adventure that started as a pre-teen launching birthday candle powered dry cleaning bags into the sky. It was fascinating then, and still is, to watch how the winds would change with altitude. For years I dreamed of attaching myself to that balloon, a dream that came true during my college years.
I have had some success in our sport and served in roles from event director of many events, to team manager for the United States. It has been an honor to carry our flag to other nations and represent our country. In my bid to be your HACD at large board member, it will be an honor to serve our sport here at home.
I am on the ballot for HACD board member to give back and help guide our sport into the next years. My agenda is simple, to advocate for our members. My objective was and is now, safety, fairness and sustainability of our sport. My perspective is guided by you and the many conversations about what is important to you. I will sincerely listen to you and how you would like to see the organization support competitive ballooning.
